We are sad to say that as of Monday August 9th, 2021 IBEX will be requiring masks to be worn at all times in the building due to Jackson County mandate. We are hopeful that as more people get vaccinated that the mandate will be lifted so that we can get back to returning to normal. We appreciate the respect and patience that our guests and members have shown each other and our staff throughout this pandemic and rely on your continued love and support. Stay safe.
We would like to thank everyone for their continued patience and adherence to our mask policy. We wanted to wait a few more weeks after the CDC’s announcement to allow time for more people, especially teens, to get fully vaccinated. We are proud of our community and the number of people in it who have gotten vaccinated. Proud of those who have continued to support our staff and each other during this time. Effective immediately, IBEX will be making masks optional for fully vaccinated individuals. Please remember that fully vaccinated means 2+ weeks after the final dose of the vaccine. While we will not ask for proof of vaccination, we ask that members and guests be responsible and respectful of the revised policy and your fellow community members. If you have yet to be vaccinated and/or are waiting for your second dose please continue to wear a mask for just a little longer. We continue to be humbled and overwhelmed by the community support. Thanks for all you have done for us these past 14 months. We are so excited to see all your faces soon!
We are excited to start returning to normal. Starting May 14th IBEX will require masks to be worn while on the ground, but can be taken off while climbing. We look forward to lifting our mask requirement completely and urge everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
Due to possible staff exposure to COVID 19, out of an abundance of caution IBEX will be temporarily closing until Sunday morning as staff gets tested and we await the results. In the meantime, the gym will be undergoing extensive cleaning.
We are also canceling classes and events for the next 2 weeks.
During our temporary shut down members’ accounts will be credited for lost time.
We know you love to climb with us and we love to see you! We’re sorry for the lost climbing time but we want to keep everyone safe and healthy. We can’t wait to welcome you back in a few days!
It is with an incredibly heavy heart I am writing this to you. Due to the Jackson County COVID-19 Executive Order Guidance updated today, which limits the number of allowed in the gym to a maximum of 10, including staff, we must temporarily close the gym starting Friday March 20th at 3pm. Today and Friday we will be limiting the number of people allowed in the building to a max of 10 people including staff.
We can’t thank our climbing community and family enough for being so understanding and kind throughout this unprecedented time. We hope to reopen in a few weeks. We will be watching the situation closely and give you updates whenever we can.
Dear IBEX Family, We are committed to the health and safety of our members, community, and staff. We recognize that part of your health is exercise and enjoyment. At this time, IBEX will remain open to members and punch pass holders. After careful consideration, we have decided to close the gym to the general public until April 1st allowing only those with memberships or punch passes to attend. We are canceling Ropes and What-Knot classes, Lead class, birthday parties, Mountain Mates, Intro to Climbing, and yoga. Those affected by canceled classes will be contacted about rescheduling or refund ASAP. We will also not be renting harnesses, shoes, belay devices or lead ropes during this time. Only personal gear will be used. The communal workout gear upstairs will be put away and off limits. Climbing Club, Climbing Team, and Homeschool programs will continue to meet for those who are interested and already members. Rental gear except ropes will be allowed for these groups, but not shared. Harnesses will be washed after each use, shoes and belay devices will be sanitized with Lysol. To ensure the safety of yourself and others, please wash your hands before and after you climb. If you are sick or have any symptoms consistent with COVID – 19, please stay home. Our staff will continue frequent sanitation of high-contact areas. IBEX will continue to assess the situation and make further adjustments as needed. Thank you for being patient with us as we take the time over the coming days to figure out our plan as well as addressing all of your questions and concerns. As this is a rapidly evolving situation, please check with our social media frequently for more updates. Please email [email protected] for any questions about these changes.
